Nuance has only taken 6 1/2 years to develop Ver. Looks like we might need to wait 10 more years. I've always hoped that Microsoft, after acquiring Nuance, would be able to do something by integrating its ML capabilities. That remained the case with version 15, and now it appears to be the same with version 16. It only has some mapping and automation, plus a façade of user customization which doesn't even take heed to a clear user intent, much less intelligent learning. I wonder what they've been working on during all these seven years?Īs I said more than 20 years ago, Dragon had zero Machine Learning capability. already said that they didn't see any improvement on the speech engine nor the vocabulary. But what 'web applications'? If they don't include web browsers, they mean almost nothing. It vaguely says that it has fixed some issues dictation into some 'web applications'. Yet, Dragon Professional 16 has no clear statement on fixing this biggest problem. 90% of my dictation happens in browsers (emails, messages, Office web, OneDrive, Google Docs, writing in WordPress, etc.) To me, the most serious problem with the current Dragon Professional 15 is it never works reliably on web browsers including Chrome and Edge.
